Mariners-Blue Jays Preview

(AP) -- Felix Hernandez is healthy enough for the chance to bounce back from his first defeat of the season and avoid another rough outing against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Still in position to become the majors' first seven-game winner, Hernandez looks to get back on track when the Seattle Mariners visit the Blue Jays on Friday night.

Neither Hernandez (6-1, 2.30 ERA) nor manager Lloyd McClendon blamed an ankle the ace tweaked in the sixth of Saturday's 4-2 loss to Boston for him walking three and allowing two runs in his last inning of work. The right-hander gave up season highs of four runs and four walks along with seven hits as Seattle (18-22) lost for the first time in his eight starts.
