The Seahawks announced Rice's decision Wednesday, two days before the start of training camp. The news was first reported by Pro Football Talk.
Analysis: Rice missed half of last season with the Seahawks after tearing his ACL against St. Louis. Rice re-signed with Seattle in the offseason on a $1 million, one-year deal. But he was going to be pushed to make the Seahawks' final roster with the additions of draft picks Paul Richardson and Kevin Norwood and a healthy Percy Harvin.

Analysis: Schneider touched on a number of topics during his pre-draft availability on Wednesday. Schneider added that Terrelle Pryor was acquired from Oakland with the idea that he'd compete as a quarterback. Seattle sent a seventh-round pick to the Raiders in exchange for Pryor. There was a thought he could be a dual-threat player for Seattle.

Analysis: Rice returns to Seattle after spending the last three seasons with the Seahawks. Rice was released by Seattle in February in a salary-driven move. Rice is coming back from a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in October against the St. Louis Rams.

Analysis: Both were due hefty salaries in 2014 that didn't necessarily match the production they had shown on the field. Rice had struggled with injuries with the Seahawks and was lost for the 2013 season after Week 8 with a knee injury.

Rice tweeted on Friday afternoon saying the No. 12 would "remain on the left side of my chest no matter what! Grateful for the opportunity to share so many special moments w yall."
Analysis: The tweet seemed to be in response to an ESPN report that Seattle intended to release Rice. The team said no roster move has been made and the NFL transactions report showed no roster move Friday. Releasing Rice would not be surprising. He is scheduled to make $8.5 million in 2014 and Seattle could use the cap savings in its attempts to re-sign Michael Bennett and extend Earl Thomas.
