Analysis: Gordon will have ample time to recover, since he must sit out the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally reinstated Gordon, the league's leader with 1.646 receiving yards in 2013, on Monday after the oft-troubled wideout sat out all of last season for multiple drug policy infractions.

Analysis: Gordon can apply again at a future date. On Monday, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that Gordon "raised a red flag" because of a recent league-administered drug test. The person says Gordon didn't have a positive substance abuse test. But a sample collected in March showed Gordon had traces of marijuana and a diluting substance in his system. The level of marijuana was less than the minimum required by the NFL for a positive test.
